Our Places &
Faces of 2008
We are pleased to present you with our 2008 Annual Report of The Arc of Jefferson County. I know that you will enjoy reviewing the activities and progress of The Arc in 2008.
During 2008, we continued to provide services and programs to people with intellectual disabilities and their families in Jefferson and Blount Counties. Importantly, we continue to emphasize providing services to new individuals, previously unserved from the waiting list.
Also during this year we renovated our new workshop facility in Cleveland, Alabama. I am happy to report that by year end, this facility was close to being put into use as a sheltered workshop/vocational center for individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families in Blount County. The facility had already opened as staff office space for the Blount County residential program in the summer of 2008.
Also during 2008 two more homes were opened in Jefferson and Blount Counties to provide residential services. Additionally, numerous new supported employment jobs began throughout the year.
We hope you enjoy reviewing this year’s annual report. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your past and future support of The Arc of Jefferson County with services in Jefferson and Blount Counties. Please continue to be involved with us as we strive to meet the needs of people with intellectual disabilities and their families in the counties that we serve.
Thanks very much.
